Tour survey, Adrian signing at NAMM

• Apparently an email was sent out from No Doubt.com today about a survey, but I didn’t get it. Here’s what it said:
‘Hi Everyone,
Before you know it the buses will be pulling out and we’ll be back on tour! Since it’s been a while we really want to make sure things go as well as possible for everyone coming to see us. Our management suggested that we ask some questions to make sure we know what you guys like and need out there. They’ve whipped up a quick survey (we told them to keep it as short as possible!). If you do have the time, please take a couple of minutes to answer the questions and help us out. We wouldn’t ask you for a favor without giving something in return, so there is a special video download waiting for you if you complete the survey.
Go here to help us out

Can’t wait to rock! See you soon.
Gwen, Tony, Tom and Adrian’

• From The OC Register:
No Doubt Drummer a Vet at Music Convention
Adrian Young, 39, first came to NAMM as struggling musician, now signs autographs.

ANAHEIM Adrian Young gets a lot of stares and head turns as he walks through the lobby of The NAMM Show with his green-plaid pants and bright-red mohawk.
Hey, that’s the drummer for No Doubt, I hear again and again as I walk next to Young. A few people stop to shake his hand, or ask for him to pose for a photo.
But his popularity isn’t enough to get him on the convention floor. Remember, this show, the music industry’s largest annual trade show, is closed to the public.

Reconnecting with No Doubt
Young has taken several years off from No Doubt, while lead singer Gwen Stefani pursues her solo career.

Young makes it clear that despite some gossip that seemed to suggest otherwise over the years, No Doubt never broke up. He and bandmates Tony Kanal and Tom Dumont have recorded “tons” of backup tracks and have begun working in the studio again with Stefani. But a complete album is still “a long way away.”

He’s tight-lipped about any upcoming tour, other than to confirm that the band is playing the Bamboozle Festival in New Jersey this May. “And hopefully they’ll be some other dates in ‘09,” he says, with a wry smile. (Knowing I have a pen in hand, he’s not free-flowing with the insider info.)
“It’s fun to be playing together again,” he says. “We’re lucky we all get along so well still. …We are all having dinner tomorrow night.”
